We started the Yuddha Kanda (Lanka Kanda) of the Ramayana today. After a brief overview, we found we could not watch the YouTube video - it needed to be downloaded.
The kids were disappointed of course :-)

History Unit continued with another excellent presentation by Vishal (ppt attached). This time we talked about how various rulers around India fought the British on their own but there was no joint effort.
There was a lot of detail in the ppt but surprise! Kids actually took notes and remembered important points. Of course, the promise of a Jeopardy quiz at the end of the History unit is the incentive.
The History ppt is attached to this post.

Art Project - Ramayana Masks:
Some kids brought back the completed masks and oh my!
We are constantly amazed at these kids' creativity. There was Dasaratha playing the flute, Hanuman, beautiful Sita(s), Rama, Lakshmana...awesome!
Parents - again - please make sure the kids keep their masks carefully - there will be a fun activity with them in the near future.

Check out these wonderful masks and our budding artists!
