Hi everyone!
Today was all about Hanuman!
But, before jumping into our Ramayana lesson, we had a short presentation on a very important current event in India - Mangalyaan, or the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM). Many students were aware of this important milestone in Indian science and space technology, which was fantastic! The class also discussed other important recent events in India, such as PM Modi visiting the USA, and the man killed by a white tiger in the Delhi Zoo (ouch).
The 5th chapter of the Ramayana, the Sundara Kanda, was presented today to the class, and the kids seemed to recall a lot of information about this chapter (and the next chapter!) while discussing, which is awesome! Hanuman seems to be one of the class favorites.
After learning about the Sundara Kanda, we started an art project - Hanuman masks. Everyone was hard at work making their mask look creative and unique. There were some great results, and everyone took home a few jewels and sequins to glue on as the finishing touch to Hanuman's crown.
Check out the class in action below!
Thanks,
